A quick look at what we’ve been up to this past year.
It’s been an incredible year, and from what we can tell, 2017 is going to be even better. When we set out to disrupt real estate, we knew it would be a challenge. What we have found is that the public was ready for us and more than willing to sell their houses without paying a listing commission, all while getting a full-service treatment.
Our success has allowed us to grow to a team of 20 people, up from 5 at this time last year. We have added on 10 new agents to cover Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, 3 new executive team members, and 2 new administrators.
We’ve had the privilege to work with 196 buyers and sellers. The feedback we receive from our clients has been overwhelming. Here are a few of our favorites from the year:
- I’ll admit it: I was skeptical. Houwzer promises big, alluring savings, but I worried that the savings might mean a “budget” experience – a scary prospect given the stakes involved in selling a home. Well, it didn’t take long for my worries to prove unfounded. Another major milestone we accomplished this year was becoming a Certified B Corporation. Certified B Corporations are a new type of corporation which uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. It’s like Fair Trade certification but for the whole business, not just a bag of coffee (or USDA Organic certification, but not just for a carton of milk; or LEED certification, but not just for a building). Additionally, we officially launched in South Jersey. Our office is in Haddonfield and we have agents waiting to help you buy or sell a home.
And one more thing to note, we began our first round of fundraising in the fall and received $200,000 from Ben Franklin Technology Partners, as well as additional individual investors.
