Houwzer Names Bob Griffith General Manager Of Home Services

Houwzer is excited to announce that Bob Griffith has stepped into the role of General Manager of Home Services as of February 21. This newly created position will help solidify Houwzer’s one-stop-shop mission through increased support and oversight for the mortgage and title teams and their integration into Dash(™), Houwzer’s proprietary tech.

Griffith comes to Houwzer with ample experience working with big names in the mortgage industry. Prior to Houwzer, he was Managing Director of Sales (Artificial Intelligence) for Black Knight Financial, a leading provider of technology solutions to the mortgage banking industry. His extensive resume includes serving as CEO of Keller Mortgage, a national mortgage lender, and as COO of Home Value Guard, a mortgage insurance startup – where he helped lead a capital raise in excess of $550 million. He was also the COO of Radian Guaranty, a national mortgage insurance company, among other accomplishments throughout his 35-year career.

His depth of experience gives him unique insight into the challenges facing modern mortgage providers, as well as the potential solutions available. Although Houwzer is best known for home selling and home buying services, its title and mortgage offerings are key to the company’s future success. By bringing various home services in-house and coupled with the company’s proprietary technology, Houwzer gives consumers a more streamlined and stress-free home buying experience – helping the company’s offerings stand out from the competition.

With decades of experience in various roles throughout the mortgage insurance industry, it’s clear that Griffith has the chops to helm these teams and further the success they have already experienced.

“I took a deep dive into Houwzer during a three-month consulting engagement in 2021, and came away a big fan of its value proposition, unique culture, and leadership. The GM of Home Services role is a perfect fit for me given my broad career experiences in mortgage and title insurance. I could not be more excited about joining this amazing group of people and leveraging my skill set to help Houwzer continue to grow and disrupt the real estate business,” explains Griffith.

Houwzer is a next-gen brokerage that has re-imagined real estate to better serve clients and agents. Rather than working as independent contractors, agents are employees and are paid a full salary with benefits – ensuring that they can focus on client goals, rather than commissions. In 2022 Houwzer announced that it had raised a $118 million Series B, which includes $18 million in equity and a $100 million warehouse line of credit, led by Edison Partners.

“We had the opportunity to work with Bob as a consultant, and we were incredibly impressed with his leadership and domain expertise. He has the know-how and experience to help unify the mortgage and title experience and create the industry’s best one-stop shop. In addition to scaling these businesses profitably, Bob will also lead our efforts in starting up a homeowner’s insurance company,” says Houwzer CEO and co-founder Mike Maher.
