Houwzer Names Melissa Gingrich As New CFO As Startup Continues To Grow

Houwzer is excited to announce that Melissa Gingrich has joined the company as their new Chief Financial Officer. Gingrich is a graduate of both Lehigh University and Villanova University, and comes to Houwzer’s C-Suite team with extensive experience in finance, having cut her teeth managing in organizations like eLocal USA, NXT Sports, Liberty SBF, The Vanguard Group, and Guggenheim Partners.

“I think the common thread throughout my prior experiences is that many of the companies were high growth, entrepreneurial-minded firms,” says Gingrich. “What gets me up in the morning is that innovation, and creation of something new. Houwzer is really nicely aligned with that. I’ve known about Houwzer for a really long time and I’m just so excited to help build out the accounting and finance team, and to join a company that is truly doing something unique.”

In her role, Gingrich will help ensure that Houwzer has streamlined and scalable accounting and finance processes in place to enable its future high-growth trajectory. Her past experience with creating KPI-driven budget models, developing cash flow projection models, and acting as a due diligence point person makes her a valuable asset to the Houwzer financial team.

Gingrich’s hire as CFO is part of the company’s growth plan as Houwzer prepares to expand into new markets before the close of 2020. Earlier in the year, Houwzer raised $9.5 million in Series A funding, led by Edison Partners, with stated plans to use the funding for various endeavors, including increasing headcount. Although 2020 began with unprecedented disruption, the team quickly pivoted to record-breaking sales and has maintained its plans for expansion into new territories.

“It’s no secret that Houwzer’s success to date is due to one thing – talent. Our workforce is composed of incredible human beings who have the talent, hustle and passion  required to build an enduring brand – and they also have unwavering belief in our unified mission of changing the real estate industry for good. By adding Melissa to the Executive team as CFO, we’re not only leveling up our finance department, but we’re getting an ops-oriented executive who understands the importance and difficulty of building and scaling a talent brand. She’s battle-tested with experience ranging from inception to M&A to big exit. I couldn’t be happier to be adding someone of her background to the team and adding gender diversity at the Executive level,” says Houwzer CEO Mike Maher.
